Quoted from Porta's Kitchen

"Apart from his stories about his general, Gregor's main appearance in the books comes in O.G.P.U. Prison when he is guard commander at the beginning of the book, and slowly goes to pieces as the attempt to get his prisoners across Berlin to jail becomes more and more confusing!"

Yeah recon I can go to pieces steadily at any time.
Can certainly live up to the moral standard of the troops, dodgy past, drinks & smokes too much and capable of having a tear up from time to time....
I'm in :)

HI ZB , all be at husky if your going,

all we ever did was live up to the outragous storys in the books

drinking shouting and acting like the 27th

in game we would play as serious as we could (hard in a yellow topper i know) but i would always throw in a sven qoute when the situation seemed right

heres a video of the 27th pzr at project wotan (our finest hour)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m2XDpe3ec3E

hope this helps

Lewis "WHERE ?", still chuckled at 'Adolf' - "That's my boys !!"

Great game, you mad buggers :good:

As soon as Husky is out of the way, I'll finally be getting my "Julius Heide" panzer wrap as well. Have been re-reading a lot of Sven Hassel lately and have really gotten into again. Still makes me laugh, even after all these years.

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

As much as I'd like to go to Husky, in my "other" airsoft life, I'm taking a team of 40 players to Ground Zero weekender on the bank holiday weekend and there is no way my wife would allow another weekend's jolly after that. Organising a team of 40 to an away event has taken months of work and weeks of preporation, a task I probably wont do again, and "She who must be obeyed" is giving me some kind of grief for spending all my spare time sorting everything out for a smooth running trip!
So my heer uniform is carefully put away, being added to bit by sly bit that she hasn't found out about, probably untill the November game at Longmoor.
I do wear all the gear occasionally at my regular site, but as I marshal and run the games, some of the parents dropping off the kiddies do give me a bit of a look. You can imagine them thinking "I'm dropping off little johnny to an airsoft site where the bloke reading out the safety brief, is a six foot skinhead with a goatee beard and dressed as a German second world war soldier.... "
Come on in laddie, we'll look after you ..he he he

Interesting description of yourself, though am sure no odder than my four year old telling people his mum dresses as a german soldier and runs around in the woods trying to shoot people

And no more odd than running around in modern military kit, with guns which sound like sewing machines. Goatee beards rock. We should start a club. :good:

i bet parents evenings are fun

my little lads 5 and already told the teachers that he "shoots daddys schmisser" :slap:

and he tells all his friends about the "zulu gun with a sword on it"
(hes seen the film Zulu , and seen my k98 with bayonet fitted, and any rifle with a bayonet, is a zulu gun to him  )

so i get funny looks off his friends mums when i drop him off at school, and he runs round "playing the zulu game"

After seeing Portas yellow hat at Husky, I decided to investigate Sven Hassel and also read this thread.

I found the perfect character for me (Meier)from the links Old'Un (Der alte) posted - thanks for that :good: :

"Meier is the obese tormentor of recruits who is hated by everyone...an example of a total bastard"

Perfect.

On reflection however, I have decided that the extended works of Sven are probably more me

Sorry again for the 'non-editing', and lack of kit :slap: but its hard to get a full airsoft uniform through the airport  At least on this one you get to see the cheesy grins of a 7yr old in a sweet shop!!! I actually love the second ammendment :D
